The big test for the Utes will be playing without QB Cam Rising, who is out with a hand injury. Backup QB Isaac Wilson has thrown 7 picks in his stead, so look for Utah to emphasize the run on offense in this game. The Utes will be up against a Sun Devils defense yielding just 3.0 yards per carry.
But Arizona’s defense pops in surface stats to a much greater degree than it does in defensive analytics. Utah can win battles in the trenches and should be able to stay on schedule against the ASU defense.
And a Sun Devils offense propped up by some shaky defensive foes so far will really be tested against a strong UU defense allowing just 280.2 yards per game.
