LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Secretary of State John Thurston convened a meeting of Arkansas’ representatives to the Electoral College at the state capitol Tuesday morning.
During the meeting, Arkansas’ six presidential electors cast their ballots for Donald Trump and J.D. Vance for the offices of president and vice president of the United States.
On Election Day, voters select a slate of electors tied to a candidate. The winning slate in each state then votes for president.
Arkansas’ votes will now be transmitted to Washington, D.C., for official certification, which is scheduled to happen on January 6, 2 weeks ahead of the inauguration on January 20.
