Arkansas U.S. House District 4Bruce Westerman (R)
Incumbent Republican Bruce Westerman took office in the U.S. House in 2015. He served in the Arkansas House from 2011 to 2015. He began his political career on the school board in Fountain Lake, AR in 2006.
Westerman sits on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and is chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources.
He studied biological and agricultural engineering at the University of Arkansas and forestry at Yale University.
“I am asking for your continued support as I fight to move Arkansas forward by pushing for lower taxes, reforming our healthcare system and advocating for conservative values,” he says on his campaign website.
Risie Howard (D)
Democrat Risie Howard is a Pine Bluff community leader, former science teacher and attorney with experience in civil, criminal and naval law.
She attended University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and has a law degree from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Bowen School of Law.
According to her campaign website, “She is passionate about ensuring all Arkansans have access to the fundamental building blocks of a healthy, happy life – good schools, well-paying jobs, and affordable housing.”
