TYSONS CORNER, Va. – Sophomore Ashton Jeanty became the first Bronco to receive All-America First Team honors since 2020 after USA Today recognized him for his role as an all-purpose player.
Just the second Boise State player to receive All-America honors as an all-purpose player, Jeanty becomes the 29th Bronco in school history to claim First Team All-America honors. Avery Williams was the last to wear the Blue and Orange that received first team honors, doing so in 2020 as a kick returner/punt returner.
Jeanty totaled 1,814 yards from scrimmage and averaged 164.9 all-purpose yards per game this season, ranking second nationally in both categories. He gained 1,262 yards on the ground and added 552 receiving yards, scoring 19 total touchdowns. He is the only player in the nation with multiple rushing touchdowns of 50+ yards and multiple receiving touchdowns of 50+ yards, scoring two of each.
The Lone Star HS product has an impressive collection of accolades, earning Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and garnering first team All-America honors from College Football Network. On Tuesday, he announced his plans to return to Boise State for the 2024 season, stating “I will be a Bronco for life!”
K.C. Adams was the only other Bronco to garner All-America honors as an all-purpose player, being listed Second Team All-America by the Associated Press in 1994.
Jeanty will lead Boise State as they play UCLA in the Starco Brands LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk on Saturday, Dec. 16. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. MT/4:30 p.m. PT at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The game will air nationally on ABC.
