NFL ‘closely monitoring’ situation with wildfires ahead of Los Angeles playoff game
The NFL is monitoring the situation with the Los Angeles wildfires, with the LA Rams set to host the Minnesota Vikings in a wildcard playoff game on Monday.
The game is set to be held at 8pm (local time) at the Rams’ home field, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Inglewood is around 12 miles from the Palisades Fire and the area is not under any evacuation orders.
However, the NFL said it was “closely monitoring developments”.
The NFL added, if the game had to be relocated, it will be moved to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The stadium is home to the Arizona Cardinals.
The Rams posted on X about the wildfires.
“Our hearts are with those affected by the Eaton Fire in Altadena/Pasadena and the first responders in our community,” the team said.
The Vikings responded to the Rams’ post with one of their own, saying, writing: “We’re thinking of our Rams friends, their community and the first responders during this time.”
