Emily Gold, a teen dancer who was featured on the latest season of “America’s Got Talent” a month ago has died at the age of 17.

The Los Osos High School dancer was found dead under a bridge along eastbound 210 in Rancho Cucamonga, California, at around 11:52 p.m. on Sept. 13, Officer Rodrigo Jiménez of the California Highway Patrol confirmed to USA Today in a press release Monday. CHP officers were called to respond to a report of a “pedestrian down in lanes.”

“A 17-year-old female of Rancho Cucamonga was struck by at least one vehicle within the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane of eastbound SR-210 freeway,” the release states. ”The female succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department spokesperson Mara Rodriguez confirmed Gold’s identity to USA Today in an email. Her death is being treated as a suicide.

Last month, Gold was part of the LOHS dance team on Season 19 of “America’s Got Talent” as the team advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated.

Simon Cowell loved the group’s performance, dancing to hits like Usher’s “OMG” and “Yeah.”

“It was absolutely brilliant,” Cowell said after the group’s May audition. “What I loved about this was first of all the energy. I think what I just saw is everything a great school should be doing, which is encouraging talent and friendship.”

In one of her final Instagram posts, the teen dancer wrote that performing on AGT was “the most incredible experience.” She also thanked her high school team for being the best family she could ever ask for.

Los Osos High School is making grief counselors available to students and staff.

“Emily was a cherished member of the Los Osos High School campus and was beloved by her fellow students and teachers,” the Chaffey Joint Union High School District superintendent said in a statement to KTLA5.

A GoFundMe account was created to help raise money for Gold’s family, with a goal of $50,000. The fundraiser has currently raised $36,172.

“With great sadness, we share our Los Osos Grizzly Emily Gold has passed away,” the fundraiser read. “As a community let’s come together and support the Gold family in this difficult time. Please know this money will go directly to the family to support them and help with expenses.”
