Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders unveils surprise favorite Big 12 stadium

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders unveils surprise favorite Big 12 stadium

Deion Sanders is a fan of Shedeur playing for the Las Vegas Raiders

Shedeur Sanders is a projected first-round NFL draft pick and Deion Sanders wouldn’t mind his son landing in Las Vegas with the Raiders.

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders has played in a lot of different college football stadiums during his career, including last season at Oregon’s legendary Autzen Stadium and the historic location of UCLA’s home football games, The Rose Bowl.

His favorite stadium to play in, however, may come as a surprise.

The Colorado quarterback, entering his senior season in Boulder, revealed on a recent podcast that he likes the environment at Arizona State’s Mountain America Stadium.

“I would definitely say I like Arizona State,” Sanders said of his favorite stadium to play in on a recent episode of his podcast, 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders. “Yeah, it was lively at Arizona State.”

Why Shedeur Sanders likes to play at Arizona State’s football stadium

Surprised by that pick? Maybe you shouldn’t be.

It was definitely “lively” at ASU’s stadium when the Buffaloes and Sun Devils faced off last season, a 27-24 win for Colorado on Oct. 7, 2023.

After Arizona State tied the game with 50 seconds left, Sanders and the Buffaloes drove down the field and won the game on a 43-yard field goal from Alejandro Mata.

Sanders went to the ASU student section to celebrate after Colorado’s win.

Earlier in the game, Sanders appeared to throw an ASU’s players mouthpiece after a Buffaloes touchdown.

Yeah, that definitely qualifies as “lively.”

Arizona State football: What does a successful season look like for Sun Devils in 2024?

Shedeur Sanders’ favorite stadium choice maybe shouldn’t come as a surprise

Colorado only won four games last season, with only one other victory for the Buffaloes coming on the road, a 45-42 win at TCU in the season opener.

Sanders’ team lost at Oregon, 42-6 on Sept. 23 and at UCLA on Oct. 28, 28-16. He didn’t play in the Buffaloes’ 23-17 loss to Utah in Salt Lake City.

No wonder Arizona State’s stadium is currently his favorite stadium in which to play.

Unfortunately, it appears that it will be the quarterback’s only time playing in the venue. Colorado and Arizona State both joined the Big 12 Conference this season, but they aren’t scheduled to play each other in 2024.

Sanders is projected to be a high draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in many early 2025 NFL mock drafts.

Colorado and Arizona State rekindled their football rivalry in the Pac-12 in recent years. It’s too bad that Sanders and ASU don’t get to continue that rivalry in the Big 12 this season.

It would have been “lively.”
