Deion Sanders slams late kickoff of Colorado, Kansas State football game: ‘Who does that?’

Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team will be on national TV for the sixth time already this season, but that doesn't mean that the Buffaloes' coach is pleased with the kickoff time on Saturday night.

No. 18 Kansas State comes to Boulder for a Week 7 showdown with major Big 12 implications. It's the conference's most anticipated matchup of the weekend with both teams coming off a massive win in Week 5 (both teams had a Week 6 bye).

Unfortunately, college football fans will have to wait until 8:25 p.m. MT/10:25 p.m. ET (ESPN) for the game to start.

"Who does that to us, man, like who does that? How stupid is that? It's not smart for a television executive to say we're going to put this game on at this time," Sanders said Thursday on the Colorado football coaches show. "I mean, you're thinking about eyeballs, you're thinking about selling merchandise in the commercials, you're thinking about all of that.

"Why would you do it at that time when half of America is asleep? None of the people I know would do something stupid like that."

Each of Colorado's home games so far this season (vs. NDSU, Baylor) kicked off at 6 p.m. MT. Those matchups averaged 4.2 million viewers.

The Buffs' first game this season against a top-25 opponent is sure to top that number, even with the late kickoff.
