Treat yourself to a day of fine art, golden aspens and spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Westcliffe on Saturday, Oct. 5. Seven art galleries within walking distance of each other will be featuring special artists, offering music, refreshments and artist demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Visit Westcliffe to see and meet some of Colorado’s finest artists at these galleries:
·3rd Street Gallery, 59000 Hwy 69, (719)315-6045 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Featuring special artist Tim Diffenderfer who will be demonstrating his landscape painting. Melody DeBenedictis paints western wildlife and will also be showing at the 3rd Street Gallery.
Visit Andy Mast Fine Art at 219 W. Main St. (719)431-9973 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. He will showcase Western art photography.
Arterburn Fine Art and Misty Morning Studio at 409 Main St. (719)783-2099 will display an array of art. Brookwood Gallery at 211 Main St. (719)371-4475 will also feature Colorado fine artists.
Learn Roman chain making at Cheryl Swartz Jewelry 104 W Main St (937)750-7272. This gallery will also be featuring the work of Karen LeBlond’s pottery.
Sangre de Cristo Gallery and Rockshop at 114 Main St. (719)783-2649 and Wild Iris Gallery at 210 Main St. (719)783-4323 are also participating. Wild Iris will feature photographer Heather Curtis.
Rudl Mergelman who will be demonstrating his Western and wildlife paintings all day at the gallery.

Canon City High School students will go over the ins and outs of phones and computers and will answer any questions. They will be at the Golden Age Center, located at 728 Main St., from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Oct. 3, Oct. 10, and Oct. 24.
