Multiple posts on X with millions of impressions are falsely accusing a “fake Melania” of accompanying Donald Trump on a visit to his campaign headquarters in Florida.
But it’s not true, Melania Trump was there.
The former US first lady is seen in videos wearing a pair of black sunglasses inside and walks into a room with campaigners in front of Mr Trump.
Users online are speculating whether it’s actually her, questioning her appearance, with one post that has over two million impressions saying: “That’s not Melania. This is insane”.
“Melania” is the number one trend in the United States on X.
Sky News analysed the video and compared it with photos taken by Reuters news agency which show the pair in the same location. Melania is seen with her sunglasses on and off – proving that it really is her.
In both the video and in the images taken by Reuters, the right side of Melania’s collar is standing up.
The pair are also seen in the same place where Melania thanks campaigners…
