Maverik gas station chain announced Monday it has completed the re-branding of Kum & Go stores in Colorado as Maveriks.
Maverik purchased the Iowa-based Kum & Go chain about a year ago. Officials from both companies did not say at the time of the sale whether the stores would be re-branded.
According to a press release, as of Tuesday Maverik has completed 97 rebrands of Kum & Go stores across Utah and Colorado.
Those include former Kum & Go stores in Rifle, Silt, Parachute, New Castle, Glenwood Springs, Meeker and Craig.
Maverik already had locations in Orchard Mesa, Clifton, Fruita, on D Road, on F Road, in Delta and in Montrose.
There were some closures during each location’s remodeling process, according to Maverik’s website.
“I am honored to lead Maverik into this exciting new chapter,” Maverik CEO Crystal Maggelet said in a press release. “Our acquisition of Kum & Go has strengthened our position as a leading convenience store retailer, and I am proud of the progress we’ve made in integrating the two brands. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional experiences for our customers, supporting our Team Members and giving back to the communities we serve.”
The first anniversary of the purchase was marked with a $1 million donation to Feeding America, which included $100,000 to Food Bank of the Rockies.
“Following the celebration of these exciting rebrand and acquisition milestones, Maverik will continue its focus on the growth and integration of Maverik and Kum & Go brands,” the release stated.
