Barely less than three weeks before Donald Trump is sworn in as the US President on January 20, the country is in the grip of violence. Right after a terror strike in New Orleans in which a US military veteran drove an a pickup truck with a black Islamic caliphate flag into a New Year crowd celebrating in iconic Bourbon Street, killing 15 and injuring dozens of others, another US military veteran in a suspected suicide bombing exploded a Tesla Cybertruck outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas.These two incidents have occurred when the US has seen many other acts of violence such as shooting at a nightclub in New York and burning of a woman by an illegal immigrant on a New York City subway train.

Link between New Orleans and Las Vegas terror strikes? Investigative agencies are probing a possible link: two violent incidents on the same day, both involving vehicles rented from the car-sharing platform Turo, may be connected. In Las Vegas, a Tesla Cybertruck rented through Turo erupted into flames outside the Trump International Hotel Wednesday morning. The explosion, which left one person dead and seven others injured, is being treated as a possible act of terrorism. A video circulating online shows the Cybertruck engulfed in fire just seconds after stopping near the hotel’s entrance.

Hours earlier in New Orleans, a suspect identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar drove a Turo-rented EV pickup truck into a crowd of New Year revelers on Bourbon Road, killing 15 people and injuring dozens. Police later found an ISIS flag in the vehicle, sparking fears of a terror link. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill told NBC News that authorities believe multiple people were involved in the attack.Authorities have discovered that US special forces veteran who exploded the Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas served in the same military base as the veteran who drove a truck into a crowd in New Orleans.A potential connection between the two terror strikes and clear political angle to the military veteran choosing to explode a Tesla Truck outside Trump Hotel -- since Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk are the tallest figures of the MAGA group -- have alarmed the MAGA base.Chaos before Trump's inauguration?Many among the MAGA base believe that the terror strikes are part of a hidden project to disrupt or derail Trump's inauguration on January 20. Trump is set to take charge as the US President as the iconic Inauguration event will take place on January 20. Trump will hold a rally-type event on January 19 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., just ahead of his inauguration, CBS News has reported based on multiple sources. Several Democrats are planning to boycott the inauguration of Donald Trump as the first act of resistance to the President-elect. In 2021, Trump did not attend Joe Biden's inauguration and did not even meet the incoming president at White House. After the Capitol riots that broke out as Trump called the election 'stolen', he opted to leave Washington directly from the White House.

Trump supporters suspect his opponents will try to disrupt his inauguration. They believe terror attacks will only increase as the inauguration draws closer. One user wrote on X that the theory that "certain circles" are trying to use the terrorist attacks to create a state of emergency in the US ahead of Trump's inauguration is becoming popular.

"Air Force One pick up Donald J Trump in Florida and take him to camp David to swear in. I don’t trust the CIA, FBI, DOJ or any three letter agency for his safety. Our country is on fire and for his safety I would recommend that. We don’t need an inauguration in DC," another X user wrote. Many believe the terror incidents are an attempt to scare people off from attending Trump's inauguration.

"Worried for President Trump during the inauguration! Could a smaller, more discreet swearing in take place? Maybe inside away from the chance for attack? I don’t trust the dems, deep state, terrorists all over our country! President Trump must be protected at all costs!" wrote an X user.

Another Trump supporter wrote that he should be sworn in at a private location: "The Democrats want him dead and they want it live on TV."

Trump has promised many radical steps from day one, including sending back illegal migrants with the help of the military. Commenting on the New Orleans terror attack, Trump said, "When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true. The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before."

The most dangerous period in the US?The most dangerous period America faces in terms of election violence is in the 76 days between Election Day on Nov. 5 and Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, wrote Brian Michael Jenkins, a senior adviser to the president of RAND Corporation, in The Hill two months ago. "There may be large-scale protests and disruptions by activists, not connected with a particular candidate, but rather aimed at flexing political muscle or drawing attention to contentious domestic or foreign policy issues. Extreme left and right-wing extremists, anarchists, accelerationists and others may view post-election turmoil as an opportunity to provoke greater violence in pursuit of other objectives. Radicalized by foreign ideologies and animated by recent events in the Middle East, individuals and small groups may seek to take advantage of the situation to carry out mass casualty terror attacks. Disturbed individuals, agitated by political tensions and bellicose rhetoric, could pursue personal grievances or simply seek notoriety for themselves through violence," Jenkins wrote.

Jenkins wrote that violence could include various acts. "The catalog of potential actions is equally diverse. Since 2020, there has been a surge in violent threats against public officials at all levels, violent protests by far-left and far-right extremists, a nationwide rise in domestic terrorist incidents, the armed occupation of a state capitol, a mob assault on the nation’s Capitol, a plot to kidnap a governor, two attempted assassinations of former President Trump, intelligence indicating an Iranian plot to assassinate the former president and a plot by an Islamic State-inspired individual to carry out a mass shooting on Election Day," he wrote.
