Under-fire Pakistan wicket-keeper Azam Khan was involved in a heated exchange with a fan after getting dismissed for a golden duck against the United States of America (USA) at the Grand Praire Stadium in Texas in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 on Friday.
Pakistan put up 159 on the board batting first against USA. The 25-year-old Azam came out to bat at No. 6, getting trapped in front of stumps by American spinner Nosthush Kenjige in the 13th over, reducing Pakistan to 98/5.
USA produced a formidable chase, ending their innings level on scores at 159 in 20 overs. Monank Patel scored 50, whereas Andries Gous and Aaron Jones hit 35 and 36 respectively, as Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf picked a couple of wickets each. The match headed to the Super Over, but Azam faced a lot of flak for his virtual non-performance in their opening clash.
