The character of my country has been indelibly changed. The faith I had in my fellow Americans to do the right thing when it counted was misplaced.
The voters have spoken and the world sees that a majority of the people of America have chosen a president who is aged and in mental decline, who promises to use another term to get revenge on those who have crossed him, who lies incessantly, and who to the very end of the campaign personified division and hatred of others.
It is now likely that Donald Trump will pay no price for all that he has done, most notably instigating a riot that caused the desecration of the Capitol, the wounding of about 150 law enforcement officers, and the deaths of many. He is now above the law.
