Trump calls McConnell ‘mentally ill’ after vote against confirmation
Moments before Robert F. Kennedy JR. was sworn in as secretary of HHS, Donald Trump made claims about Mitch McConnell’s mental state.
Sen. Mitch McConnell has voted against several of President Trump’s cabinet nominees, including Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr..McConnell’s actions demonstrate a pattern of opposing President Trump’s agenda.McConnell needs to retire and be replaced with a leader who will support Trump’s “America First” agenda.
This week, Mitch McConnell voted against two more of President Trump’s highly qualified cabinet secretaries.
McConnell was the only Republican in the Senate to vote against both Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., siding with the Democrats to stymie President Trump’s agenda. Luckily, McConnell and the Democrats failed, and America gets two phenomenally qualified leaders. But one thing made itself abundantly clear:
The time has come for Mitch McConnell to retire.
McConnell’s repeated opposition to our movement has become the cornerstone of his new political identity. We’ve seen this pattern since President Trump first took office — McConnell has often sided with leftwing Democrats to block his key initiatives, including his cabinet nominees. In just the past four weeks, McConnell has:
Voted against Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense;Took to 60 Minutes to make clear his opposition to key pieces of President Trump’s America First Agenda;Criticized President Trump for not supporting blank checks to fund endless foreign wars;Parroted Democrat talking points in opposing President Trump’s tariffs;And now, he sided with Senate Democrats to oppose Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the head of Health and Human Services. This is just the beginning.McConnell needs to be replaced
President Trump won our commonwealth by margins unseen since the 1800s. Our message in November was clear: The status quo does not work. Our party and our country are united behind President Trump’s vision for our nation. Yet McConnell continues to align himself with the D.C. establishment rather than the people who elected him to work alongside President Trump. It’s time for fresh, America First leadership.
Unfortunately, some of the very same politicians talking about replacing McConnell don’t even have the backbone to stand up and publicly oppose his attempts to stop President Trump’s America First agenda.
These politicians call themselves ‘MAGA’ and claim they’ll fight for President Trump’s agenda, but they care more about getting McConnell’s blessing than they do about putting America first.
We need leaders who will back Trump’s America First agenda
We don’t need more McConnell-controlled pawns waiting for a permission slip to run for public office. Anyone afraid to upset the establishment will undoubtedly be too cowardly to deliver real, conservative results for the American people.
We need fighters. We need people who won’t flinch in the fight to secure our Southern Border once and for all and deport everyone illegally in our country. We need people with a backbone who will do what’s right and confirm President Trump’s nominees. We need people who will put the interests of American workers first and work with President Trump to protect the American economy, not globalists. We need people who are unashamed to say that Donald Trump is the greatest president of our generation and will back his America First agenda 100% of the time.
Kentucky deserves America First leadership — not relics of the establishment who put Washington politics over the interests of the people.
It’s time for Mitch McConnell to retire.
