Ghost scored a career win at the box office earlier this summer with their first theatrically-released concert film. Rite Here Rite Now was shown in theaters around the world for a short time, and fans flocked to watch the costumed group perform their biggest hits.
Weeks after Rite Here Rite Now left theaters, the title is still performing well and generating income for the rockers. The soundtrack that accompanies the film reaches the Billboard charts this frame, and it’s a huge win on a number of tallies.
Rite Here Rite Now debuts at No. 1 on two rankings published by the chart company in America. The soundtrack is new in first place on both the Vinyl Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums tallies this frame.
Oddly, the set doesn’t manage to rule the Soundtracks chart. Instead, Rite Here Rite Now is forced to settle for second place on Billboard’s list of the most-consumed titles connected to films. The heavy metal outfit couldn’t replace the Twisters album, which spends a second turn on top.
Rite Here Rite Now also misses out on reaching the throne on one other roster. Ghost launches their latest set in the runner-up rung on the Top Album Sales chart, which ranks the bestselling titles in the country, regardless of format or genre. The soundtrack opens at No. 2, behind Stray Kids’ Ate, with 25,700 copies purchased, according to Luminate.
At the same time that it leads a pair of rankings, Rite Here Rite Now also opens inside the top 10 on two other Billboard charts. Ghost’s recording starts its time on the Top Rock Albums ranking at No. 5. It performs similarly on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums tally, where it opens at No. 6.
Rite Here Rite Now only fails to reach the highest tier on one list. On the Billboard 200, the all-encompassing ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S., Ghost starts their new project at No. 21. It moved 27,300 equivalent units, with almost all of those being pure sales.
