Take a guess! Do you know what the most dangerous car in America is? You can go ahead and throw out a few trucks, cars, and SUVs. But if you think about what the best-selling vehicle in America is, then the answer is a no-brainer. It’s the Ford F-150.

America’s most dangerous car is the Ford F-150

See? America’s deadliest car makes sense. The Ford F-150 is the most popular vehicle. It has been the best-selling car for decades.

So, with more people in the F-150 on the road, more accidents occur. The Ford F-150 was involved in 2,418 fatal accidents in 2022.

It is the deadliest car on the list of the top 50 deadliest vehicles in the United States and also happens to be the deadliest automotive brand.

If you combine Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs, then you have 7,552 vehicles that were involved in fatal accidents in 2022. Chevrolet is the second deadliest brand with 7,473 fatal accidents.

Jaguar is one of the safer brands, with only 11 vehicles involved in fatal accidents in 2022. But come on, compare the number of F-150 owners to Jaguar owners.

The Ford Ranger is actually the most dangerous car by volume. It has 42.78 fatal accidents per 100,000 models sold. But the F-150 killed more drivers and passengers overall.

Since 2022, the F-150 has received a mid-cycle refresh and safety improvements. According to the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2024 F-150 is safe enough for our roads, but it didn’t win any awards.

It has a poor score for the moderate front overlap test. Rear passengers are at risk of head, neck, and chest injuries. Plus the rear passenger restraints received a poor rating. However, it got acceptable and good ratings across the board in other tests.

Standard 2024 Ford F-150 safety features include:

Lane-keeping assistance

Forward collision warning

Blind spot warning

Rear cross-traffic alert

Rear automatic braking
