Forbes’ annual list of America’s Top Colleges is here, and three Greater Cincinnati schools made the cut: the University of Cincinnati, Miami University and Xavier University.
Miami finished the highest among the three, coming in at No. 198 out of 500. UC ranked No. 245, and Xavier is listed at No. 300.

The business outlet narrows down thousands of U.S. colleges to a list of 500 using intel from multiple databases, eliminating those that have announced plans to close or have fewer than 300 undergraduate students. From there, Forbes evaluates each school according to 14 metrics, looking at factors that include alumni salary, graduation rate and academic success.
Princeton University claimed the No. 1 spot for the second year in a row, while Stanford University ranked No. 2 and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology came in as the third-best college.
