We are tracking a tropical wave north of South America

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on a tropical wave just to the north of South America.

Right now that tropical wave is rather broad and unorganized.

WIS(WIS)

As the wave moves to the west later this week and enters the Western Caribbean or once it crosses into the Bay of Campeche that is when it could enter a more favorable environment for development. At the moment the hurricane center is only giving this wave a 20% chance of development over the next 7 days.

The next name on the list for this year is Beryl.
