Madrid.- At The Spotlight on Latin America: Advancing Investment and Regional Collaboration for AI and Semiconductor Growth event in Madrid, the Dominican Republic outlined its ambitions to become a key player in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industries. The discussion, organized by The Financial Times and Millicom, featured Julissa Cruz, CEO of Indotel, alongside global leaders, including Costa Rica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and a representative from the European Parliament.

Cruz highlighted the Dominican Republic’s national strategy, which focuses on digital infrastructure investment, workforce development, investor incentives, and flexible regulatory frameworks to foster innovation. She emphasized the country’s political stability, economic growth, and strategic location, along with its low country risk rating, making it a prime destination for tech investments.

The event underscored Latin America’s commitment to technological innovation and international collaboration, positioning the Dominican Republic as a potential regional leader in the AI and semiconductor sectors.
