At the Dominican Republic-Vietnam Business Dialogue in Santo Domingo on Thursday within the framework of his official visit to the Latin American country, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam and the Dominican Republic have a lot of potential and opportunities for cooperation.
In particular, the two countries have had good friendly relations for many years, very high political trust, the unique and long-standing culture, an important geopolitical position in two dynamic regions of Latin America and Southeast Asia, so the two economies can complement and promote each other’s development. These are very important foundations and advantages for businesses of the two countries to feel secure in investing, he added.
Vietnam will create favorable conditions for Dominican investors to invest in Vietnam as well as Vietnamese enterprises to invest in the Dominican Republic, considering it a gateway to the Caribbean and Central and South American markets, Mr. Chinh said.
He affirmed that the two Governments will continue to improve the investment and business environment, create favorable conditions, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of businesses. He also urged businesses to strengthen cooperation and investment to both bring profits to themselves and fulfill social responsibilities, contributing to building a strong, self-reliant, and autonomous economy in each country.
Earlier, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attended the inauguration of the upgraded President Ho Chi Minh Statue and laid a wreath at the statue in Santo Domingo.
The PM said the Ho Chi Minh Statue in Santo Domingo, along with the Statue of Professor Juan Bosch in Hanoi, serves as a symbol of the long-standing solidarity, friendship, and shared bonds between the two nations. They are also significant landmarks for educating future generations about the traditional relationship between the two nations and a destination for visitors to pay tribute to and honor the late leaders of the two countries.
