Not only that, but he wants to make Canada the next US state, and Justin Trudeau, the head of the Canadian government said, “Hell no, we won’t go.” Canada’s a lot smarter than the US so maybe the US will become a province of “Canada, my Canada.”
Mexico’s President Sheinbaum responded to Trump’s tariff threat with this: “I’ve instructed my economy minister to implement the plan B we’ve been working on, which includes tariff and non-tariff measures in defense of Mexico’s interests,” Sheinbaum posted, without specifying what U.S. goods her government will target. I think Trump has bit off more than he can chew.
The Donald now has decided that he will relocate the Palestinians that Netanyahu has not yet destroyed. The only problem he has is, where he will send them because Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Emirates say they disagree and will not take them. This is as bad as it gets, the biggest insult to a small country that has just had Israel administer genocide upon its people. Trump dared to say that America would take control of Gaza, but he has no idea how he would do it. +
Trump is letting his lemming, Musk, run wild. Musk is an immigrant from South Africa, and he was not elected to any position in the government, but he’s got lots of money, the wealthiest person in the world, so he has Trump’s ear. It’s only a matter of time until Trump goes way too far, and millions and millions of greatly angry Americans will erupt, and then where will the Donald try to hide?
How about climate change? It’s beginning to rage across America, but is Trump calling for emergency action to combat it? No, he is too busy tearing down governmental agencies and planning how to take over Gaza. Meanwhile, auto dealers are busy making commercials hawking large pickup trucks with 560 HP engines that fill the air with smelly emissions. The last thing America needs.
Some say that Trump doesn’t even have a clue on how to run this government in the right way. But when it’s about doing what he has made very clear time and time again, to take down this democracy and replace it with a fascist, authoritarian government, he knows exactly what he will do.
While Zelensky is working to save Ukraine and Europe from Russian aggression, Trump calls him a dictator and says that he started the war. Sounds like we are listening to Putin’s puppet. What Zelensky should do right now is to demand that European nations and NATO step up and take over what Trump signals America will no longer do, to provide the weaponry that Ukraine needs to defeat Putin.
Zelensky said that he was recommending that an Army of Europe should be created. This is one of the best recommendations I have heard in some time. It makes all the sense in the world. What needs to be done is some expert organization. This army, a beefed-up NATO, would be one that Putin would never dare to go up against.
This paragraph from C.J. Polychroniou clearly illustrates the threat that Trump is to this country: “Dark times are ahead—dark times, indeed. And the only question is how to fight back before everything good and decent is lost once again in the return to fascism.”
Right now, Trump and Musk are flying high but, they won’t be much longer.
Every dictator, from Julius Caesar to Hitler to Mussolini to Stalin, went too far and then succumbed to the power and determination of the people.
Julius Caesar of the Roman Empire. He was assassinated in Rome on the Ides of March by a group of conspirators, including Brutus. The power of the people prevailed.
After Lenin died in 1924, Stalin ruthlessly promoted himself as Lenin’s political heir in the late 1920s and, thereafter, ruled Russia with an iron fist as a dictator. He died of a stroke in 1953.
Mussolini was caught by the people after WWII and hung upside down in a square. He was a poor excuse as a dictator and was no more than a blur in Italy’s WWII demise.
Hitler wreaked havoc in the world and, when defeated, he committed suicide in his underground bunker.
The lesson for Trump and his billionaire foot soldier Musk: dictators always lose, and you will too.
Yes, Trump and Musk are flying high right now but let me predict what I believe the future will bring.
Trump and Musk will continue to ravage government agencies to the point that the government will become very dysfunctional, and the safety of America will be in danger. And when that happens, the American people will erupt in extreme anger, setting off massive, violent protests across this country. Then the cowardly Republicans, intent on keeping their jobs in Congress, will finally wake up and say, ”Enough is enough.”
They will be forced to then join with Democrats to bring impeachment proceedings against Trump, and he will find himself out of office, facing jail time when some of his cases are reopened. And then, he will become a convicted dictator time and time again.
