The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) in Guyana reports that over 1600 households in five regions were critically affected by flooding in a period of 2 weeks from late October.
CDC said on 08 November, “Guyana has been impacted by heavy rainfall and thundershowers as well as above normal high tides that impacted sea and river defences.”
Flooding has damaged 1,543 homes across the regions 2 (Pomeroon-Supenaam), 3 (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), 4 (Demerara-Mahaica), 5 (Mahaica-Berbice) and 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice). CDC has distributed relief supplies to over 1,600 families.
