New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation trip from November 17, with a focus on Africa and Latin America, including the revival of India-Brazil-South Africa or IBSA summit, on the sidelines of the G20 summit.
Eyeing to push ties with resource-rich Africa, his first stop will be Nigeria, a key African economy and BRICS partner state.
This will be followed by a visit to Brazil for the G20 meet and then Guyana, which is home to a big Indian diaspora.
Highlight of the visit is the revival of IBSA summit, aiming to strengthen partnership between democracies and calling for reforms of multilateral institutions, including the UN, ET has learnt.
Modi is also expected to meet his counterparts from Italy and Australia besides host Brazil on the sidelines of the G20 summit. While with Italy the focus could be on IMEEC, the PM and his Australian counterpart are likely to hold their annual summit. The G20 summit will take forward the agenda from the New Delhi Declaration of 2023 and aim to address the issues of inequality and poverty.
