North America’s “tallest, fastest and longest” tilt roller coaster coming in 2025

(WHTM) — A long-time East Coast amusement park just announced that it will soon debut “the tallest, fastest and longest ’tilt’ roller coaster in North America.”

Cedar Point Amusement Park, which is based in Sandusky, Ohio, just announced that its newest, record-breaking roller coaster, called Siren’s Curse, will be making its North American debut in the early summer of 2025.

According to Cedar Point, the new ’tilt’ roller coaster named Siren’s Curse will echo the sirens of chilling melodies as riders ascend to the told of the 160-foot-tall Lake Eries shipping crane tower.

Riders will reach the top only to be met with a dead stop on the “broken off” section of the track, which will then slowly tilt the entire train car into a 90-degree vertical position.

Cedar Point says riders will then plunge into the abyss, speeding through almost 3,000 feet of track at a top speed of 58 mph. The ride will feature 13 weightless airtime moments, two 360-degree, zero gravity barrel rolls, and a high-speed “triple down” element with twisted and overbanked track.

It should be noted that guests will need to be at least 48 inches tall to ride the new Sirens Curse.

“Record-breaking thrills have always been at the heart of Cedar Point’s roller coaster lineup, and Siren’s Curse lives up to that standard,” Carrie Boldman, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point said. “The entire ride is an experience filled with non-stop action, but that first precarious tilted position where you’re hanging on – looking straight down – and waiting for the track to connect will be a signature moment our fans will love. It’s a first-of-its-kind for Cedar Point and we’re thrilled to bring it to our guests.”

Once open, Cedar Point says the new Siren’s Curse will become the tallest, fastest, and longest ’tilt’ roller coaster in North America.

Cedar Point is the second-oldest amusement park in North America and is currently home to 68 rides, which includes 19 world-class roller coasters, the Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, a mile-long beach, marinas, hotels and more.
