Maggie Steffens debunks water polo misconceptions for Paris 2024 Games
No, water polo players are not touching the bottom of the pool.
The U.S. women’s national water polo team plays its semifinal game in the 2024 Paris Olympics on Thursday in France against Australia.
The team is coming off a 5-4 win over Hungary in its quarterfinal game on Tuesday and is looking to continue the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on the right track in its semifinal game against Australia on Aug. 8.
Australia beat Greece, 9-6, in its quarterfinal match.
Team USA is looking to win its fourth straight Olympic gold medal in the event after winning in 2020, 2016 and 2012. It was the silver medalist in 2008 — the last time it didn’t win the gold at the Olympics.
