Colorado Advanced Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Spine (CAO) is located in Meeker, Colorado, on the Pioneers Medical Center Campus. Earlier this year, the orthopedic clinic welcomed dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon Alejandro Miranda, M.D., to its growing surgical team.
Dr. Miranda is an orthopedic surgeon with board certification in sports and foot and ankle orthopedic surgery. He has completed a dual fellowship and has extensive experience in his field.
“It’s a privilege to join the Meeker Community and growing orthopedic team at Pioneers Medical Center. I’m excited to bring foot and ankle expertise to the region,” said Dr. Miranda.
Dr. Miranda specializes in Cartilage Restoration, Achilles Tendon Repair, Ankle Replacement Surgeries, Upper and Lower Extremity Fractures, and Sporting Injuries for Foot, Ankle, and Knee. His patients are experiencing excellent outcomes and attest to the personal care they receive as CAO patients.
CAO patient Anita H. struggled to find relief with other providers until she met with Dr. Miranda. “Over the last nine years, I visited four foot specialists in the Grand Valley. I was told by every one of them that I needed surgery, but they could not tell me what was wrong with my feet,” she said.
“They offered to cut on me but did not offer a positive outcome, so I never had surgery, just lived with the pain. I requested to be seen by CAO at Pioneers Medical Center after my husband had a double knee replacement that was 100% successful. I was told they did not have a foot specialist on staff. A few months later, I received a call from the clinic saying they now had a foot specialist. They asked if I would like to come for an appointment, and I said yes!”
Anita H. scheduled her appointment at CAO and met with Dr. Miranda.
“The other doctors did not know what was wrong with my feet, but Dr. Miranda told me the problem after just a few minutes. I was impressed with Dr. Miranda’s history and credentials and decided to proceed with the surgery. He was kind and thorough about what would be done in surgery and what to expect while recuperating,” she said.
“During the recovery period, I had several appointments and received top-notch information and care from Dr Miranda and his staff. I am six months out from surgery, walking (not running yet), and planning to have my other foot repaired in January,” she said. Anita H. was pleased with the level of personal care she received from the CAO team.
“I have to say I got a call from Dr Miranda a month ago to see how I was doing, and he stopped by my business last week to check on me as well. What surgeon is that committed to the welfare of his patients? No one I have met in this process,” she said.
Dr. Miranda received Fellowship Training at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, Santa Monica, CA; University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA; and The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Dr. Miranda also serves as a member of the medical unit for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team, and he frequently travels internationally as the team physician for the U.S. Snowboardcross Team. He has also served as a team physician for the US Men’s and Women’s National Soccer Teams, UCI World Cycling, Amgen Tour of California, and PGA tours. In addition, he has had the opportunity to work as a medical consultant with FC Barcelona.
