Art in Latin America: Clara Josefa Ortiz, from science to the visual arts

Clara Josefa Ortiz, born in Santa Clara, Cuba, daughter of a family of teachers, graduated and entered the field of science in quality control in iron and steel, but she had a vocation for art in her heart and decided years later to develop it. Guided by the art critic José Seoane Gallo, she walked within the visual arts and managed to project her gift in the works that have obtained the recognition of the public and the awards where she has presented them.

THE PRIZES ARE KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR

In 2001 he won the national award at the Popular Art Fair in Ciego de Ávila, and in 2021 the Channel Network award, on TV, in Brazil. He has participated in multiple festivals, collective and individual exhibitions, among which the following stand out: First International Festival of Naive Art, in 2012, in Havana, and in the First International Festival of Naive Art, in Monte Plata, Dominican Republic. His work has been published in prestigious digital magazines such as Fusión Art World, from the ACAM, in Punto de Encuentro, edition 27 and in Cisne, which have a high circulation.

APPEARS IN THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART OF THE 20TH AND 21ST CENTURIES

It is also listed in the book “El Aullido Infinito” by MSc Yaisis Ojeda Becerra, which is in the catalogue raisonné of the Kadinsky Art Library, Pompidou Cultural Center of the Museum of Modern Art 20th and 21st Centuries, in Paris, France.
